Terra Supports Let’s Play to Make
Active Play a Daily Priority for Kids

A recent survey* suggests that screen time doubles from the weekday to weekend, while active play increases by only an hour. These “Wired Warriors” are simply spending too much time in front of their screens. Recently, Terra Wellington teamed with Dr Pepper Snapple Group (DPS) and to help spread the word about Let’s Play, the national initiative to make active play a daily priority for kids.

Let’s Play, powered by DPS and in partnership with national nonprofits KaBOOM! and Good Sports, provides kids and families with the tools, places and inspiration they need to play every day. Contests and grants for everything from sports equipment to playground construction are open year round.

From now through June 5, high schools around the country have a chance to win a $100,000 grant from DPS and Good Sports to completely revamp their school’s athletic department. Simply make and submit a video with the theme of ‘Because of Sports.’ at LetsPlay.com. Let us know what sports mean to you and what your school needs to make daily active play a reality.

Start putting those videos together now! The submission portal will be open until June 5. The top 20 finalists will be announced in June and the grand prize will be awarded just in time for the new school year in September.

Have a great summer and don’t forget to play!
